Ingredients
- 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
- 1 (9 inch) angel food cake
- 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 3 kiwis, peeled and sliced
- 1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced
- 3 bananas, peeled and sliced
- 1 (15 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 sprig fresh mint
Directions- In a medium bowl, fold sour cream and unprepared pudding mix into the whipped topping.
- Cut the cake into thirds, horizontally.
- Line a large trifle or other glass serving bowl with kiwi and strawberry slices, reserving two whole strawberries and two kiwi slices. Place one layer of cake in bottom of bowl, top with 1/3 of bananas and pineapple, and 1/3 of whipped topping mixture. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used.
- Make fan garnishes of whole strawberries by slicing from just below the stem. Garnish assembled trifle with fanned strawberries, reserved kiwi slices, and a sprig of mint. Refrigerate until serving.
* I used this recipe but changed it up a bit and made it my own. I didn't like the fruits kiwi and pineapple so I used blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries instead. I also didn't use the mint.
Cut up about 3 cups of strawberries.
Angel food cake for the base of the trifle
Whipped topping thawed (I just used cool whip)
Sour cream and Vanilla mix added to cool whip
After a layer of berries spread a layer of cool whip mix
Keep on doing layers of
angel food cake, berries, and cool whip mix
Now for the top, I did whipped cream and strawberries,
but be creative and make it your own.
I made this dessert for my family christmas dinner.
Everybody Loved it!!
My aunt thought it was soo good she went back for seconds.
This is a great dessert that feeds a lot of people and taste delicious
Report and Comments:
Everything went well. I had to go back to the store once to get some more ingredients because we had a large bowl. Everyone at the christmas dinner thought it was great and some when back for seconds. Nathan was hoping i was going to make a cheesecake instead, but he still enjoyed the trifle.
